Title: It should be concise, descriptive, unambiguous, accurate, and reflect the precise contents of the manuscript. A descriptive title that includes the topic of the manuscript makes an article more findable in the major indexing services.

Abstract: Please include an abstract of 250 words (150 words for short communications) between the title and main body of your manuscript that concisely states the purpose of the research, major findings, and conclusions. If your research includes clinical trials, the trial registry name and URL, and registration number must be included at the end of the abstract.

Keywords: Please include a minimum of 5 keywords, listed after the abstract. Keywords should be as specific as possible to the research topic.

Materials and Methods: Must explicitly describe the materials used, the analytical techniques followed, and procedures employed for the data analysis. When using the standard method, provide a complete reference. In case a modified method has been applied, then the modification must be elaborated. The year and place of study, laboratory(s) must be indicated. Experimental design (if applicable) and statistical techniques employed for data analysis must be mentioned clearly.

Results and Discussion: Could either be combined or treated separately. The results should be concisely presented using tables and figures. The same data may not be used in both. Appropriate statistical data should be given. Discussion must be developed logically in a proper sequence and should cover the implications and consequences, not merely recapitulating the results.

References: List all references under the heading References in alphabetical order by the authors' surname or last name. Make sure that references quoted in the text are listed. Several papers by the same author and same year must be followed by a, b, c, etc. after the year. The use of standard abbreviations is preferred.

Figures: These should be kept to a minimum. Prepare figures and line drawings using black India ink or laser printer in Corel Draw, Excel, or a similar package compatible with Windows 2010. Number figures consecutively with Arabic numerals, e.g., Fig. 3. Captions should describe the contents so that each illustration is understandable.

Tables: Number tables consecutively throughout the manuscript with Arabic numerals. All numbered tables must be referred to in the text. The table should be few in number, carefully designed, uncrowded, containing only essential data. Keep column headings and descriptive matter brief and do not use vertical rules between columns. Only tables that complement the text, rather than duplicate it, will be accepted. Keep tables to a reasonable size. Large tables should be divided into components. Tables and figures must be embedded within the text at appropriate places.

Acknowledgments: If any, should precede references.

Acronyms: Must be defined at first mention in the text. Use standard abbreviations.

Units and Currencies: Use Metric/SI (System International) units throughout the manuscript. If non-SI units must be used, please give conversion to the correct SI unit.

Authors' Contribution: Authors will declare the contribution of each author, e.g., JV and MP conceived and designed the review/project/study. DL, MC, and IL executed the experiment and analyzed the sera and tissue samples. IJ analyzed the data. All authors interpreted the data, critically revised the manuscript for important intellectual content, and approved the final version. Place authors' contribution before references.

Your manuscript must follow the relevant EQUATOR Network reporting guidelines, depending on the type of study. The EQUATOR wizard can help identify the appropriate guideline. You will need to upload the appropriate checklist with your submission.

If your research involves animals, you will be asked to confirm that you have carefully read and adhered to the ARRIVE guidelines.

Must contain only the title and authors' names and addresses indicating the corresponding author along with email IDs of all authors/co-authors. The authors may suggest (optional) 4 potential reviewers (two from academically advanced countries) not below the level of Associate Professor, with their designation, institute, official postal address, telephone, fax, and official email address along with the area of expertise. Reviewers from the same institute where research was conducted are not acceptable.

To ensure fair and anonymous peer review, your manuscript must be fully anonymized. Please ensure any identifying information is removed from the main manuscript document and included on the Title Page instead. Do not include any author names in the manuscript file name and remove names from headers and footers. This version of the manuscript will be sent to the peer reviewers. The Title Page will not be sent to peer reviewers.

The Title Page should include:

  • Article title
  • The full list of authors including names and affiliations of each
  • Contact information for the corresponding author: name, institutional address, phone, email
  • Acknowledgments section
  • Declaration of conflicting interest
  • Funding statement
  • Ethical approval and informed consent statements
  • Data availability statement

To ensure proper anonymization, please include a section with the heading 'Statements and Declarations' on your title page, after the Acknowledgements section [and Author Contributions section if applicable] including each of the sub-headings listed below. If a declaration is not applicable to your submission, you must still include the heading and state 'Not applicable' underneath.

Ethical considerations: Please include your ethics approval statements under this heading, even if you have already included ethics approval information in your methods section. If ethical approval was not required, you need to explicitly state this.

Consent to participate: Please include any participant consent information under this heading and state whether informed consent to participate was written or verbal. If the requirement for informed consent to participate has been waived by the relevant Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board, please state this.

Consent for publication: Submissions containing any data from an individual person (including individual details, images or videos) must include a statement confirming that informed consent for publication was provided by the participant(s) or a legally authorized representative.

Declaration of conflicting interest: The journal requires a declaration of conflicting interests from all authors so that a statement can be included in your article. If no conflict exists, your statement should read: 'The author(s) declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article'.

Funding statement: All articles need to include a funding statement, under a separate heading, even if you did not receive funding.

Data availability: The Journal is committed to facilitating openness, transparency and reproducibility of research, and has the following research data sharing policy. Subject to appropriate ethical and legal considerations, authors are encouraged to: Share your research data in a relevant public data repository. Include a data availability statement linking to your data. If it is not possible to share your data, use the statement to confirm why it cannot be shared.

Review Process

As and when the manuscript is submitted successfully, an automated manuscript ID is generated and communicated to the corresponding author. The journal follows a double-blind review policy. The journal's management will try to get the submitted manuscript reviewed as early as possible. Usually, reviewers are requested to complete the review as early as possible; however, delay in the review process will not be on the part of PJFS management. If all processes from complete submission to revision go smoothly, then 10-12 weeks are required to reach a conclusion (Acceptance/Rejection).

Proofs

Upon satisfactory revision and acceptance, the manuscripts are typeset. Proofs will be sent to authors for correction via email, which should be returned within the specified period. Only minor corrections/changes at this stage are possible. No change in the authors' list can be made at this stage.

Article Processing Charges

From Pakistan

Article Processing Charges (APC) Rs. 10,000 will be charged after acceptance of a manuscript not exceeding eight printed pages. For papers exceeding eight pages, Rs. 1,000 per additional page will be charged.

From Abroad

USD 250 will be charged as Article Processing Charges (APC) after the acceptance of a manuscript not exceeding eight printed pages. For papers exceeding eight pages, USD 10 per additional page will be charged.
